The 62nd Thames Barge Match, will be held on Saturday 29th June 2024

Low Water at Harwich is approx. 11:25 BST, and the start for the Bowsprit Class (A) will be at TBA, the Fast Staysail Class (B) will be at TBA, the Slow Staysail Class (C) will be at TBA and the Half Barges class (D) will be at TBA.

The match starts at Buttermans bay, just down river from Pin Mill.

Where is the best place to watch the Match ?

The very best spot is during the start (see start times). This is the one time when we can guarantee that you will see all the entered Barges over an hour period.

Other good viewing points are Shotley Point (near Marina), Felixtowe Dock Viewing point and of course Pin Mill itself for the finish (see below), or from a bowsprit...
