Position, position, position they say, but wonderful though it is, PMSC's superb waterside location is only part of the benefits of being a Member of our Club. Whether you are a round-the-world sailor (we have some of those by the way), someone who just likes messing around in boats, or you just like to watch them sailing by on the river as you enjoy a drink on our veranda, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
The key thing about PMSC is the Club's informal atmosphere where people from all walks of life can meet in comfortable surroundings, enjoy excellent facilities, and a wide range of social events - all at membership fees which are some of the lowest around - ditto our bar prices! Add to this snooker and table tennis tables, children's games, a very extensive sailing and maritime library as well as a fully equipped modern kitchen and outdoor BBQ and you begin to see the range of attractions.
Of course it is not just about social activities - we are a sailing club after all - one with a long and distinguished history: the PMSC Barge Match ranks as one of the biggest and most popular events among the Barging community. Although by comparison a relative newcomer, the PMSC Smacks and Working Boats Race, has also rapidly become very popular. Both events bring the spectacle of living history on our local waters as they battle it out for line honours!
We offer an interesting sailing programme in the summer for cruising yachts and dayboats including participation in the Combined Clubs River series, an open regatta in September and various cruising events and beach BBQs. We also have a longstanding relationship with the town of Goes in Holland, the historic destination for many annual pilgrimmages where Club Members have always been made very welcome.
