It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the temporary closure and cessation of all PMSC activity for the foreseeable future.
Since the Government adopted a more robust stance on their guidance for unnecessary gatherings and the request for social distancing of the more ‘at risk’ members of society, I have taken the decision to close the club until further notice. This decision is fully supported by the General Committee. I trust that you will understand the reasoning behind this decision.
We will be following future guidance and recommendations, and will aim to have the club open as soon as practicably possible.
At this point, it is our intention (where possible) to recover our social programme throughout the remainder of the year.
With immediate effect, there will be no Friday evening bar, or draw. All club functions are postponed. The Sunday lunchtime bar and food service is cancelled. Voluntary openings are suspended.
For those members who have means of access, you are free to use the club amenities. Please be considerate in your use of the club, clearing up after yourselves. It will be inspected from time to time over the coming weeks and will be serviced as necessary. Please understand that you are accessing the club at your own ‘viral’ risk.
If you have any relevant ideas of how we can assist our members or the wider local community in the coming weeks, please do not hesitate to contact me, or any general committee member.
I would ask that you keep an eye out for your fellow members and neighbours, particularly the more vulnerable over the coming weeks. Pulling together and helping each other where possible will make everyone’s journey a little easier.
Be vigilant, stay safe.
With kind regards,
Mark Poppleton - Commodore
