Coastguard info channel changes

The VHF channels HM Coastguard uses to broadcast Maritime Safety Information (MSI) and conduct radio medical advice are changing.

From mid-morning on Wednesday 6th September VHF channels 23, 84 and 86 will no longer be used. VHF channels 62, 63 and 64 will be used instead. Channel 10 for MSI and pollution control (back up) is unchanged.

It will be possible to find which aerial will broadcast on which channel. Check late August on http://www.rya.org.uk/weathertides/Pages/msi-channels.aspx#4

MSI broadcasts will continue to be announced by the Coastguard on Channel 16.

If you have experienced problems receiving the UK Coastguard MSI VHF weather broadcasts, please use the new online form to report this. http://www.rya.org.uk/weathertides/Pages/msi-vhf-feedback.aspx
