Schengen

British boats visiting Belgium or Holland must submit Schengen Forms on arrival after 11 September 2002

RYA Cruising has had reports that boats visiting Belgium and Holland are being asked for their Schengen paperwork on arrival at a port of entry, and boats that have failed to submit the forms are having problems with the harbour police.

Boats visiting Belgium

As reported in C1/02 “Foreign Cruising” Vol 1 Atlantic Coast of Europe and Baltic Sea for Belgium “ Visiting yachts from UK must report to the Maritime Police Control at a Port of Entry using a special form obtainable from the CA or RYA”

Contact RYA Cruising by email or tel: 0845 345 0370 with your name and address and we will put the forms in the post to you.

Boats visiting Holland

The RYA now has the new Schengen Forms for boats visiting Holland.

Visiting boats are advised to fill out the form (basically a crew list) in triplicate after entering the Port of Entry e.g. Vlissingen, Middelburg or Veere.

Send one form to the duty officer at the immigration point.

Keep two copies on board during your stay.

Once the form has been sent off you are considered to have fulfilled your obligation.

When the Harbour Master is unavailable, then you must contact the immigration office in Vlissingen on tel: 0118 483400.

Forms can either be obtained from the RYA or Cruising Association before you set off or from a Harbour Master on arrival.

Spot checks are being carried out and visiting boats found not to be complying with the regulations can be fined 75 euros.

Contact RYA Cruising by email or tel: 0845 345 0370 with your name and address and they will put the forms in the post to you.
